The Kensington Walking Tours, expanded on this website, were developed from the first and second editions of A Walking Tour of Kensington, published in 1994 and 2009. We gratefully acknowledge the volunteer efforts of Society members who contributed endless hours of volunteer work to research the content, create the layout, and promote the tours. Both editions were produced by the Kensington Historical Society, and were financed in part by the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission Grant Fund.
This 2017 expanded version of the Walking Tours on a mobile website is part of the redevelopment of the Kensington Historical Society Website. We gratefully acknowledge the efforts of Janet Barnes, Mary Buckingham, Steve Cohen, Sigrid Doherty, Yvonne Gurney, Gary Ditto, Trammell Maury, Diane Meyers, Erin Monahan, Julie O’Malley, T.J. O’Malley, Barbara Scharman, and Helen Wilkes, We especially appreciate the work of Rob Sachs, who provided technical and audio support, and Allison Aubrey, who provided narration for the Landmark and Welcome audios.
This new mobile website has been financed in part by the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission Grant Fund which is administered by the Historic Preservation Commission and the Montgomery County Planning Board of the M-NCPPC (Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission).
