10537 St. Paul Street

Built around 1893, the house at 10537 St. Paul Street exhibits many elements of the Folk Victorian style. Its front-gabled roof is accompanied by a simple shed-style dormer. Fish-scale shingles adorn the third floor walls as well as a small bracketed roof over a north-facing window. Identical clapboarding adds to the overall decoration and texture of the house. The front porch is supported by Doric columns almost identical to the columns next door at 10543 St. Paul Street. This similarity may not be coincidental, since it is commonly believed that the original owners of the house at 10543 St. Paul built the house next door as a wedding present for their daughter.
