10542 Metropolitan Avenue

Walking up Metropolitan Avenue to the left, you will pass the old gas station and lumber yard, and see a Victorian house, 10542 Metropolitan Avenue, which is now a commercial property. Many early homes lined both sides of Metropolitan Avenue until the 1950s, but were gradually demolished and replaced with the commercial structures you see today. Over time, the entire triangular property across the street changed from turn-of-the-century residential (1900) to commercial. As you walk up toward Connecticut Avenue the street widens to join Plyers Mill Road.
