3935 Baltimore Avenue

The three-story house at 3935 Baltimore Avenue rests on a brick foundation. Built in about 1904, it presents a somewhat experimental design. Each floor has a different window-pane configuration. The large, third-floor gable is further dramatized by its bold outline. The front porch presents one frieze pattern at roof level, another in the fretwork below the rail, and yet another masks the crawl space. The main entry consists of two sets of doors. The outside pair incorporates leaded glass while the inside pair is wood paneled with single lights. The large number of windows, as well as the large porch reflect the Victorian desire to commune with the natural world.
