3940 Baltimore Street
3940 Baltimore Street, known as the William Armstrong House after its original owner, was built about 1895. Its hipped roof is intersected by both front and side gables, which provided its builder, A. C. Warthen, the opportunity to introduce decorative elements such as brackets, cornices, and cutouts. The side gable contains a Palladian window, characterized by its three openings, the center one arched and wider than the others.
