3948 Washington Street, built around 1893, exhibits classical restraint throughout. Note the symmetrically spaced windows of the façade as well as the entry, which is clearly emphasized by a pediment supported by columns and the centrally placed lozenge window above. The polygonal dormer is an unusual feature at the attic level.
