The B&O Railroad Station at 10312 Montgomery Avenue

The B & O Railroad Station at 10312 Montgomery Avenue was designed by architect D. Francis Baldwin in 1891. The station is an example of the Stick style, with its prominent roof brackets and exposed rafters. Wide projecting eaves offer shelter to the traveler and also suggest the romantic cottage, a building type popular in the mid-19th century. The bay facing the track was the original ticket window, and the east end, now enclosed, served as an outdoor waiting area. In 1994the station was renovated, and the exterior was restored to its original colors.
